Fabric Care

All of our clothes are 100% cotton jersey and can be machine washed and tumble-dried.
Zippers should be zipped and snaps should be closed during washing.
We recommend washing clothes inside out to preserve colors.
Baby detergents are usually fragranced so use regular fragrance free detergents instead.
Fabric softeners are not necessary. They reduce absorbency and can cause skin irritation.
Fabric Information:

Combed Cotton
Extra-soft cotton. When cotton or another fabric is "combed," the shortest, additional fibers of a batch are removed. The result produces high-quality yarns with excellent strength and softness.

Jersey
Plain fabric that is knitted instead of woven. Soft and breathable, with extra "give" for comfort. Like your favorite tee, jersey gets softer with every washing.
First manufactured on the island of Jersey, off the coast of England.

Flatlock seams
A special Flatlock sewing machine is used to sew flatlock seams. The machine fuses 2 edges of material together creating a smooth, flat seam. Most clothes are sewn with overlock seams. Overlock seams are a cheaper, faster and easier way to sew clothes with but it leaves a bulky uncomfortable seam in your clothes.
When creating these designs, for tiny, sensitive babies, there was only one seam to consider: flatlock. Flatlock seams leave a smooth surface, almost like there are no seams at all. See and feel the difference!

Natural/Unbleached woven stripe
The combed cotton jersey we use for our natural line of clothes has a subtle stripe woven into the fabric. A nice detail without adding color or chemical treatments.

Overlap neck
An Overlap neck or “Lap shoulder” neck works great because it widens to a very large opening when you pull it over your baby’s head. Pulling clothes over a baby’s head is not something they generally like. This shirt is a nice solution to that problem. Once the shirt is over the head the neck gets back to its regular small opening.
